Does torsemide cause frequent urination?
Frequency urination is the most common side effect of taking torsemide. If you are taking torsemide and are having issues with frequent urination then SOAANZ (torsemide) may be a good option for you. SOAANZ is new formulation of torsemide that has a slower drug release and may help with this problem.
How does torsemide work?
Torsemide works by reducing sodium reabsorption at a specific location in your kidney called the 'loop of Henle'. Because of the location of its action that is why torsemide is referred to as a 'loop diuretic'. By reducing sodium reabsorptions this causes you kidneys to also excrete more fluid through your urine. Not surprisingly, because of this effect, the most common side effect of taking torsemide is frequent urination.

Torsemide is considered a diuretics. Diuretics are commonly referred to as a water pills that help the kidney to excrete more sodium into urine and ultimately help your body to excrete more fluid through your urine.
Diuretics can be further subdivided into three classes: loop diuretics, thiazide diuretics, and potassium sparing diuretics. Torsemide is a loop diuretic.
