As furosemide helps to lower your blood pressure by increasing the amount of water your kidneys excrete their is a risk of excessive water loss, which can be dangerous.

What are the common side effects of furosemide?
The most common side effects include:

If these side effects are mild they may go away in a few days or weeks. If they are more severe and don't go away be sure to talk with your healthcare provider.
Some serious side effects include excessive water loss, low levels of thyroid hormones, pancreatitis, liver damage, hearing loss, blistering or peeling of skin, orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure when you stand up), and allergic reactions.

How does furosemide work?
