Don’t stop taking pravastatin unless you have been told to by your healthcare provider. Your cholesterol can be dangerously high without you noticing, so it’s important to take the medication as directed.

What if I miss a dose of pravastatin?

If you miss a dose of pravastatin try and take it as soon as you remember. If you are close to your next scheduled dose then you should skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the regular time. Do not take a double dose.

Can I take pravastatin if I am pregnant?

You should not take pravastatin if your pregnant or breastfeeding. A growing fetus and baby requires cholesterol for their development, so it is recommended to not take a statin while you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
